Come On - Friska Viljor
This duo consists of Daniel Johansson and Joakim Sveningsson from Sweden who came together after both were dumped. That sounds really harsh, but after reading their bio on the band webpage, which was so simple and honest, I fell in love with them. Here’s a direct quotation from the page: “After four years using music as a cheap therapist both Daniel and Joakim have now come to the point in their lives when it´s time for a fresh start.” It’s kind of obvious to say that artists use their emotions to fuel their art, but the fact that these two have straight up said that this is their therapy, that music was a way for them to cope is so awesome to me. I also love the fact that they’re not just dwelling on their heart break, but are growing and moving past everything and that their music is an artifact of that.
This song comes from their third album called The Beginning of the Beginning of the End, released in 2011. It’s about crying, something I’m prone to do. I, like Kristen Bell, will cry if I am not between a 3 and a 7 on the emotional scale. So it’s relate-able. My favorite thing about this song is that it’s so upbeat, and not just in the music but the lyrics as well:
Oh and don’t you cry
These are better times
There’s no need for all this extra cold
Have a great night everyone! And don’t forget to submit your favorite song and a write up here for Submission Week, it could be featured on the blog!-KK
